Abstract Submission for Oral and Poster Presentations

The AFSUMB 2024 Organizing Committee invites all interested individuals to submit abstracts for Oral and Poster Presentations through which the most updated research results and interesting cases around the world can be shared. Abstract submissions should be made through the online abstract submission system at the AFSUMB 2024 website.

How to Submit Abstracts for Oral and Poster Presentations

  • All abstracts must be submitted through the Congress website. (Abstracts submitted in ways other than through the online system will not be accepted.)
  • Abstracts should be typed in English, and the submitter is responsible for verifying typing errors.
  • Abstracts should not exceed 300 words in length.
  • Tables and figures are not permitted.
  • There is no limit to the number of abstracts you may submit.
  • An acknowledgement of your abstract submission will be automatically sent to both the submitter and the presenting author by e-mail upon his/her online submission.
  • Abstracts may be modified until the abstract submission deadline of 24:00, February 28 (Wed), 2024 (Korea Standard Time)
  • Submitters can review or modify submitted abstracts until February 28 (Wed), 2024 by visiting "My Page" on the Congress website.
  • Acceptance of abstracts will be notified by e-mail to the presenting authors on March 15 (Fri), 2024 via email.
  • Presenting authors of accepted abstracts are required to register for AFSUMB 2024 by no later than March 27 (Wed), 2024. (Go to the Online Registration Page)

Abstract Classification

  • Abstracts will be classified into four categories according to the type of presentation.
    • Oral
    • Poster
    • Case Report [Short Oral Presentation (Ultrasound, the Best)]
  • The submitter will be asked to select one of the above four categories when submitting his/her abstract.
  • Submitters who choose to submit abstracts for Oral Presentations will be required to input the text of their abstracts in separate parts (Purpose / Materials and Methods / Results / Conclusion) , which will be edited automatically according to a designated format.
  • Submitters who choose to submit abstracts for Poster, Case Report [Short Oral Presentation (Ultrasound, the Best)] Presentations will be required to input the entire abstract in one box, NOT in separate parts.

Abstract Topics

  • Abstracts will be classified into three categories according to the type of presentation.

International Grant Award

Awarded to all overseas presenters of the abstracts that have been accepted to be presented onsite at the Scientific Session, Scientific Exhibtion (E-poster) or Informal Scientific Presentation_Ultrasound, the Best. The award is given only once to the presenting author regardless of the umber of accepted abstracts or co-authors.

Awardees are granted USD 500 a reward and it is given only once to the presenting author regardless of the number of accepted abstracts or co-authors.

Young Investigator Award

Since 2003, the Young Investigator Award has been established to recognize and honor outstanding individuals among the presenters at the annual congress of the Korean Society of Ultrasound Medicine. This prestigious award is generously sponsored by Byung Ihn Choi, the former chairman of the board, who originally contributed the prize money for the 2002 Bunshi Medical Award, leading to the establishment and management of the Young Physicians Fund.

Awardees are selected based on the quality of their abstract submissions and must be under the age of 40 at the time of presenting during the Young Investigator Award Scientific Session. Preference is given to submissions focused on basic research. Awardees are granted KRW 1000,000 as Grand Priz and KRW 500,000 as Gold Award.

Applicants interested in competing for this award are required to submit the abstracts while clearly indicating their intent to participate in the Young Investigator Award by marking it on the application form.
